Students in Paula Johnson’s environmental science class participated in the Saline County Regional Solid Waste Management District (RSWMD) Name, Logo and Mascot contest and the top two overall winning entries were from Bryant students. Junior Kelsey Bond won first place overall and juniors Georgeann Burbank and Tessa Probst won second.
“It was a contest for Saline County recycling to draw something that incorporated the name, logo and mascot. It was required for my early bird class,” Bond said. “I really didn’t expect to win or anything.”
Each student or student group designed a poster incorporating each aspect of the RSWMD. Bond will receive two season passes to Magic Springs for her winning entry and Burbank and Probst will each receive one season pass to Magic Springs and a $25 gift card.
Seniors Lindsey Porterfield and Jasmine Av were Bryant High’s third place preliminary winners. They will each receive one movie pass to Tinseltown movie theater. Additionally, Bryant High School will receive a check for $500 from the Saline County RSWMD for supplying both the first and secondplace overall contest winners.
