Choir students gather together to socialize and show their talents Jan. 15. People socialized, made memories and got the chance to see their peers outside of school. The Choir Kickback was used to create bonds within the singers.
“I think these events really help bring that sense of community to the choir that everyone is looking for in a space like this,” sophomore Alex Wharton said.

A lot more than just grabbing a microphone and putting it on stage goes into making events like this that showcase not only their voices, but the opportunity to meet others and share hidden talents they may have. Organizing, creativity and the ability to keep people entertained is needed. The choir leadership team meets on the third Thursday of each month before school starts to plan the events.
“I think everyone should know how much personal time leadership and Mr. O and Mrs. Hatfield actually put into things like this,” senior and Camerata Ambassador Nay Torres said. “We want everyone to feel welcome so that’s why we have these events.”
These events bring several students across different choirs ogether to socialize and form bonds.
“Ive made a lot of friends even since jr high, and we’re still friends to this day,” junior Aniya Williams said.

At the end of the day these singers talk with their friends and discuss their appreciation for this event.
“We all experience a lot of great memories and in life the only thing you’ll have in the end of it all are great memories,” senior Jacob Schlotter said. “I feel like this will help everybody improve as a team and bring everyone’s experience up.”
