Ride of the Week: 2013 Toyota Camry

Showing off her Easter present, junior Hannah Glover models her new car | parker pamplin photo

Receiving an early present, junior Hannah Glover said she walked into her garage the weekend before Easter Sunday and saw a brand new “cosmic gray” 2013 Toyota Camry.

“My parents had told me that they were taking my old car to the Toyota dealer to fix my window, and I was out of town for the day,” Glover said. “When I got back they told me that I needed to help them move our treadmill upstairs and when I walked in the garage and my car was there,” she said.

Glover said there was an Easter basket sitting on the front windshield, when her mom and stepdad surprised her.

“I was running around screaming,” she said.

Glover said her previous car used too much gas, so her parents wanted to get her a car that didn’t.  Her old car, a Toyota 4Runner, got 15 miles per gallon and her new Toyota gets about 25-28 miles per gallon.

She said the first time she drove her new car two different cars almost hit her the same day.

“I drove it to school and before school someone almost hit me while they were parking and then after school someone speeding through the parking lot almost hit me again. I was a nervous wreck all day,” she said.

She said she can’t find much that she doesn’t like about her car and her favorite thing about it is the Bluetooth.

“I seriously love everything about it. I can make calls and listen to music without having to mess with cords and wires. It’s easy to control from my phone or the touch screen,” she said.
