With Bryant Elementary school population expanding at a rather rapid pace, a new elementary school, Hill Farm is under construction.

“Population is the major reason we decided to build the new elementary,” Superintendent Randy Rutherford said. “Bryant Elementary keeps getting bigger and bigger; it’s getting to be over 1200 students.”

Students that attend Bryant Elementary and Hurricane Creek Elementary, depending on where they live, will transfer to Hill Farm Elementary.

“We’re also building the new elementary because of the geographical areas,” Rutherford said. “depending on where people are living and where the students are coming from.”

Complete with three classroom wings, kitchen, cafeteria, gym, media center and administration office, Hill Farm will be a one-story building that can hold up to 624 students.

According to Rutherford, the new elementary should be complete by next August. The new elementary school is located at the intersection of Hill Farm and Reynolds Road.

“It’s going to be nice,” Rutherford said. “We’re very excited.”
