Preparing for homecoming

The time is approaching for the big night. Most girls obsess about the homecoming dance from the beginning of the year.  From buying the perfect dress to hairdos and makeup, girls thoroughly prepare for this special night.

Junior Cayla Christian said she prefers applying her makeup herself, instead of spending money to get it ready.

“I get my nails done, my hair done and I do my own makeup at my house,” she said.

Some girls want to go get it all prepared by professionals. For senior Sarah Evans she goes to get her hair, nails and makeup applied by a professional.

“To prepare for homecoming, I go out and get my hair done at a hair salon and go get my makeup and nails done,” Evans said.

Instead of going to a salon, few girls save their money and prepare everything at home. Sophomore Talyn Billins prefers to execute everything herself on that night.

“To prepare for homecoming, first I lay out my dress, shoes and jewelry, then I do my makeup and my nails. Then I also fix my hair before I leave my house,” Billins said.

Every girl is different, especially when it comes to homecoming. From flat irons to curling irons and salons or home accommodations, girls primp and prep for this night.
