Cosmetology, divided into Cosmetology 1 and 2 is the in-depth class with lab work and bookwork that covers a variety of cosmetology services takes the end exam in the spring.
“Most days class is split between classroom and lab. Lab is very hands on. I, as well as other instructors, demonstrate the procedures and the students practice on mannequins, other students and outside clients,” instructor Patty McCormick said.
In the spring, the classes take the in-depth test, given by the department of Arkansas Career Education. It tests over the frameworks of the two classes, and helps determine how much the students are retaining from the lessons and what content needs more focus in the future.
