Fifteen candidates will present speeches Thursday, April 5 and voting will take place first block. Below is the official line-up of candidates for senior class elections. Run-off elections, if necessary, will be Monday, April 9.
President
“Our class of 2013 should vote for me because I’m dedicated to making our year amazing, and I’ve already had the job. Last year, my brother was president, and through his term, he bounced ideas off me and I helped him work on problems for spirit week, senior games, pep rallies, etc. Along with that, I learned from him. I’ve also learned a lot on my own. I know for a fact I’ve participated in more pep rallies than any other candidate, and I’ve been to every one since ninth grade, two of which I attended and played tuba with a broken leg. I believe I’m qualified for the position and I want our year to be the best there’s ever been.”
“I believe that I could be a good leader, and ever since I walked on Campus in ninth grade I knew I wanted to be our class president. I will be in office to do what the students want, not what I want. Our year is supposed to be special and better than the previous years. I want to make that possible for the Class of 2013. I am determined to make our senior class have an enjoyable year.”
“I genuinely care about the students in our class and I want our senior year to be one of unity, excitement and motivation. If our senior year is a combination of these three things, it will be the best year possible. I can’t do it by myself; it depends on all 575 of us.”
“Leadership comes naturally to me. I’m a hardworking and passionate student. I plan to bring our class together for our senior year. I’m a good people person, and I love to see positive change come about.”
Vice President
“I can’t promise perfection, but you should vote for me because I try to be friends with everybody. I can usually find a way to relate to anyone and I believe we all have a part to play in making next year fun and memorable. I’m willing to put myself out there and try new things and I’d love to be a part of leading the class of 2013.”
“Our class has never been known as a spirited class, and we’ve never won a spirit stick at a pep rally. I thought it would be such an awesome opportunity to lead our senior class in a fun, positive way and get us more excited since it’s our last year. I’m so pumped for our senior year, and I want to make everything from the senior games to senior week the best it can be.”
“Students should vote for me because I’m here to break down the barriers between the school and them. I want to relay the information they tell me to our superiors and let them have a say in our school’s affairs.”
Secretary
“People should vote for me because I want to serve them. If elected, I won’t treat my appointment as a pleasure I can use for my own, but as an honor and opportunity to serve my fellow classmates. I will take this position very seriously and listen to and present the student body’s ideas to fellow officers.”
“I never meet a stranger. I can bring something different to our student government and make our year memorable. I want to be the voice of our class. I want to be able to take students’ ideas and use them to make our school better.”
“I’ve got the qualities of a secretary (organized, good at planning, prepared), but I also want a way to encourage the class of 2013 to reach outside its comfort zones to have fun and go crazy during our last year of high school.”
“I get along with most everyone and I work well with people. Also, I want to be a part of our senior class. I want to see us grow together and be leader each step of the way.”
Treasurer
“Students should vote for me because I will get the job done and help make our senior year the best that it can.”
“I’m a hard worker, I’ve had the same job for over a year. I’m completely trustworthy and I try my hardest to do whatever I can to help a person out. I’m a people pleaser. I know pretty much everybody in our class, and I will do my best to represent everybody. I’m very responsible. I’m a good person in general, always thinking of others. I’m quite the jokester, everybody needs a little fun to spice things up.”
“I’m an all ‘A’ student and have done well in advanced math classes. I’m responsible and a hard worker. I really want to do my part in serving our school.”
Reporter
“I’m easy to work with (not intimidating to approach) and persistent (at least I try to be). And I love people.”
