Citizens of the community came together to clean Interstate 30 and to donate their unwanted goods at First Southern Baptist Church on Oct. 27
Keep Bryant Beautiful set up the Fall Cleanup, lasted from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.
“All together we had 10-15 garbage bags full of trash that we cleaned up off the interstate,” Keep Bryant Beautiful founder Meagan Vanderpool said.Dumpsters were set up throughout Bishop Park, Mills Park and U.S. Pizza for people to drop off unwanted yard clippings.
“I would love for more volunteers to come help us clean up; however, I understand that we are a young organization and it will take time,” Vanderpool said. “However we did have a wonderful group that did show up and help.”
Senior Macy Crabtree volunteered to help clean Interstate 30.
“I went to volunteer because I thought it would be something useful for me to do,” Crabtree said. “It felt good to be apart of something that helped the community.”
In upcoming weeks Keep Bryant Beautiful and Mayors Youth Advisory Council plan to clean Boone Road.
