The team had hoped to take a more significant lead than they had in its first match against the Lady Yellow Jackets. They did just that, winning 25-12, 25-8 and 25-10 against Sheridan, Oct. 4.

“I was out for my shoulder. We weren’t really used to playing yet and the different rotation made everything a little crazy,” senior McKenzie Rice said. “This time we all played really well. We all played as a team.

McKenzie Rice had 8 kills followed by seniors Brooke Howell and Alyssa Anderson who had 6 kills each. On the serving line, senior Hannah Rice led the way with 7 aces.

The next match is against El Dorado, Thursday, Oct. 11. Judging by the team’s crushing victory over the Lady Wild Cats 25-9, 25-8 and 25-4 in September, a win should be no contest.

“We’re looking toward El Dorado,” Coach Beth Solomon said, “We beat them fairly easily when they came here and played us, so we expect to have similar results when we go there Thursday.”
