    Trending Now: Boots

Feminine or edgy, preppy or rock n’ roll, boots accent any outfit perfectly during fall and winter. Studs, leather detailing, fringe and belt buckles all add personality to even the plainest pair of basic black or brown boots. Finding the ideal pair of boots for personal style can be challenging, but with simple tricks and a little guidance finding a pair to fit any style is achievable.

“I wear boots every day in the fall and winter time,” freshman Alexis Lorio said “they’re really comfortable and dress up any outfit.”

Dock Martins, once the symbol of late 90s punk, have made an incredible come back in the fashion industry. The durable boots air cushioned soles and stitching create a unique appearance easily recognized among the endless shelves of boots crafted with easily damaged fur and cloth.

Although fragile and not as durable, dyed cloth and captivating textures have been featured on Burberry, a brand known for theirtypically neutral color schemes, runways. Venturing out into exotic, jewel tones intermingled with fur and metallic inspired heeled boots, the reoccurring trend on the streets and high fashion runways is edgy, attention drawing boots.

The classic, sharp style of the military has also inspired boots this fall and winter. Oversized buttons, ranging between gold, olive, navy or the timeless black, line calves and ankles along traditional military inspired boots. Suede and cotton are also featured, in the form of small flaps or fringe along the tops of military boots.

Riding boots are a hot new trend for those looking to polish an edgy or controversial outfit without distracting from dramatic clothes or accessories.  Typically hitting just below the knee, riding boots also usually sport a small heel, which slims the leg while adding a touch of sophistication to any outfit. While casual enough to wear every day, riding boots dress up any outfit without attracting attention.

“Boots can be pretty expensive,” junior Taylor Matthews said “but investing in a pair of cute, well fitting boots are worth it, they will last you forever.”
