1. Less is more
Less is more is always an important aspect of makeup, but especially foundation. Applying base with a butter knife is a no-no, so use it sparingly.
2. No-makeup look
On days where foundation is just not an option, use loose powder for a finished, no-makeup look. For a more polished look, use compact powder and apply loosely with a puff.
3. Color overload
Different color eye shadow can be fun, but not when the eye shadow matches your turquoise converse. Use eye shadow as an accent to bring out your eye color. Make-up companies today have certain color palettes for specific eye colors, so anyone can make her eyes pop, without going overboard.
4. A touch of pink
The phrase “less is more” goes for blush as well. Start with the apples of the cheeks and apply sparingly up the cheekbone. For a wider face, accentuate more toward the middle. For thin faces, more toward the sides.
5. Spider lashes
To avoid having clumpy lashes, always keep mascara fresh. Just because the tube is not empty, doesn’t mean it’s not time for a new tube. When applying mascara, never pump the brush; always twist. Pumping can leave air bubbles in the mascara, drying it out faster and ruin your brush.
