Recognitions:

The board recognized the eight Legacy Band Members who qualified for the 2016-2017 Arkansas All-State Band.

Out-of-state travel requests:

The board approved band director Keith Matthews out-of-state travel request for March 14-18, 2018 to Orlando, Florida to attend the All-American Music Festival.

Lt. Colonel Randy McCalip and Senior Master Sergeant Michael Lenehan’s out-of-state travel request was approved to take the JROTC to the Bossier Parish Cadet Leadership School in Monroe, LA June 10-17, 2017.

Updates:

All classes except Cosmetology through the Saline County Career Center will be moving to the Pulaski Tech campus. The new culinary arts program was approved as a CTE program with knives and aprons provided.

Food service director Lisa Stogsdill updated the board on her department. Since implementing the Hornet Subs food line at lunch, lunch participation has increased by 6%.

Student Senate:

The Leadership Committee is continuing to work on improving communications.

The School Committee has an on going food drive for the campus food pantry.

The Community Committee will be volunteering at the Saline County Humane Society.

The Spirit Committee recognized the soccer team by decorating their lockers and providing cookies for them.

The Faculty Committee recognized the counselors for their hard work.
