Boys Basketball:

Last Tuesday, the Hornets took on the visiting Little Rock Catholic Rockets and handled them easily, winning the game 60-35. Calvin Allen scored a career high 29 points in the game. The Hornets then traveled to Van Buren on Friday and were edged out by the Pointers, falling 51-48. The Hornets are now second place in conference standings,

 

Girls Basketball:

The Lady Hornets hosted Mount St. Mary last Tuesday and routed the Belles in a 50-27 victory. The win clinched a berth in the State Tournament for the Lady Hornets. Van Buren hosted the Lady Hornets and pulled away late to win 45-29. The Lady Hornets are now 8-13 overall with a 3-7 conference record and sit at fifth place in the conference standings.

 

Swimming:

The Hornet swimming teams competed in the South District regional championships at Bishop Park on Saturday. The boys team tied for first place with Magnolia scoring 403 points. The girls team had a far easier time in their meet, winning the title over second place Magnolia by 271 points.

 

Wrestling:

Five members of the wrestling team are going to 7A State Championships. Gage Pearson captured the 106-pound conference title, Landon Smith finished runner-up in the 170-pound division, and Ross Smith, Ben Adair and Nathan Mayes rounded out the top-3 in their divisions.
