Football:

Four Hornets signed to continue extend their education and football careers to the college level on Wednesday. Quarterback Gunnar Burks signed with the University of Arkansas-Monticello, defensive lineman Cameron Murray signed with Oklahoma State University, offensive tackle Cole Fritschen signed with Arkansas Tech University and defensive lineman Mario Waits signed with Henderson State University.

 

Boys Basketball:

The Hornets took on the Alma Airedales Tuesday in the Hornets’ Nest. The Hornets led by 16 at halftime, but Alma shot 12-16 on their three-point attempts, leading to a 55-53 comeback victory for the Airedales. On Friday, the Hornets traveled to Greenwood and got back on track with a 71-43 victory. The Hornets lead the 7A/6A conference standings with a 16-5 overall record and a 6-2 conference record.

 

Girls Basketball:

The Lady Hornets took on Alma Tuesday and snapped their losing skid with a 58-31 victory. A road trip to Greenwood followed on Friday, where the Lady Bulldogs edged the Lady Hornets 36-32. The Lady Hornets are now 7-12 overall on the season and 2-6 in conference play.

 

Swimming:

The Hornets and Lady Hornets competed in their final meet before the district tournament on Friday at the University of Central Arkansas. The Lady Hornets finished third in their competition and the boys finished fourth.
