Groundhog Fails To See Shadow

Early in the morning Feb. 2, a groundhog emerged from its burrow to predict the arrival of spring. If the groundhog had seen his shadow, then winter would have extended for six more weeks. This year, groundhog Punxsutawney Phil failed to see his shadow. This means spring should be around the corner.

Physical science teacher Kori Kordsmeier likes Groundhog day because she says it’s a fun way to see spring.

“It’s a silly Holiday, but it’s a fun way for us to kind of look forward to spring and celebrate,” Kordsmeier said.
