New class films for CAPS

Senior Suzanne Atwell and Austin Wadley review film footage.

For two weeks Christine Bennett’s new AV Tech and Film class has been filming elective classes and teachers to create videos to show for CAP presentations.

“The assignment is to create a video for a specific CAPS teacher,” Bennett said. “I questioned the teachers through an email if they wanted to be videoed and they responded yes or no. The ones that responded yes were matched up with some of the students.”

The teachers who taught during second and first period were filmed so the students could attain footage.

“We wanted to tell students what the class was about; that’s the goal of the video,” Bennett said. “We’re finding out that most students, just from reading the booklet still don’t know what the classes are about.”

The students are filming varities of classes such as food and nutrition and marketing.

“We will be showing the videos on a blog site,” Bennett said. “Students should be able to view them in February.”

Junior Dakota Baxter filmed Margaret Sorrows’ digital photography class.

“We’ve been filming the videos and then editing them on iMovie Pro,” Baxter said. “We use our editing tools to put together the videos.”

After the videos are edited, they will then go to journalism and photography teacher Margaret Sorrows who will decide which one to use.

“My video is going to be about three to four minutes,” Baxter said. “It can be shorter than that though.”

Once the videos are completed, they will be able to be viewed on the school website: www.bryantschools.org.
