Rummaging through racks of dresses, girls prepare for Homecoming. Oct. 13 is the night when girls will all be in competition on whose dress is better. If you still haven’t bought yours yet, don’t fret. Stores like Dillard’s, Pinky Punky, Kohl’s, and many more still have a wide selection.
This season the newest trend is Hi-Lows, a feminine style that came on the scene this spring. The front is short and the back is long. The free-flowing feel has taken the eye of many girls this homecoming season.
The typical party dress covered in sequins has made its way into the high school scene. No more is a flashy dress just for people in their twenties dancing around the club.
“A sequin dress could be tacky,” sophomore Briana Rutherford said, “but could be cute if you could work it.”
A lace dress would make the night sweet and romantic. Go with a dress covered in beautiful, elegant lace or one with just a peek of it.
Your date would never forget the night if you rocked an edgy metallic dress. These dresses demand a strong, independent person to own it. You have to be bold to wear this type.
“A metallic dress is for people who want to walk into homecoming and be seen,” junior Katelin Byrd said.
