How To Be Motivated On Mondays

Abby Hagner, Staff Writer

Students struggle with motivation, especially on Mondays. However, students overcome Mondays with food, music, and positive thoughts.

Junior Lauren Brantley gets food on the way to school on Monday to give her energy for the day ahead.

“Sometimes I will stop and get food before school, because that will give me more energy in the morning,” Brantley said. “I always look forward to the middle of the week, especially because Wednesday is church, and afterwards I always look forward to Friday.”

Librarian Marica Lanier comes to school for rest from her busy weekends and looks forward to a normal day.

“I come to school to rest,” Lanier said. “This weekend, my daughter got married, I had a wedding, my great-grand daughter had a birthday party, church on Sunday, and also I just started putting up my Christmas lights.”

Some students Listen to music as therapy throughout the day. Junior Dionte Collier listens to music between classes.

“Music is art to me, and art is an expression, and I like the perspective given to me through music,” Collier said.

For Collier, being alert and energetic is necessary to keep on the right track and to perform to the best of his abilities.

“Good, better, best,” Collier said. “Never let it rest until your good is better and your better is best.”
