Finding the right restaurant for prom can be problematic. Nice restaurants often have unusual, “high class” foods that only those with strange tastes or a superiority complex tend to find enjoyable, and often the food paid for by a rarely acquired paycheck is left picked apart and discarded. Out of the numerous “fancy” restaurants in Little Rock, some stand out more than others for their good food, decent prices and friendly staff.
Gauchos, located at 3 Rahling Circle Little Rock, is a unique experience that even the pickiest of eaters enjoy. The Brazilian style grill uses a 300-year-old method of cooking, called Churrascaria, where meat on skewers is cooked over a fire pit. Skewer laden servers then walk around offering patrons slices of freshly cooked meats such as sirloin, pork loin, pork ribs, meatballs, sausage, lamb, chicken and even carry pineapple fresh off the grill. Sides, like mashed potatoes and rice, are served family style in the middle of each table for diners to spoon out onto the provided plates, but the focus of the food is the constant stream of meat being carried by the servers For only $21.95 per person, Gauchos is the perfect restaurant for its price and variety.
Copeland’s is a New Orleans style restaurant featuring jazzy wings and giant cheesecake with a choice of toppings like caramel, hot fudge or strawberries. Copeland’s is definitely not the place for those who prefer bland food; with its Cajun spices and fresh fish lack of flavor is never an issue. Perching just off the Interstate 430 at 2602 Shackleford Rd Little Rock, Copeland’s provides a friendly and efficient staff and a low-lit setting for pre-prom couples.
Hibachi style grills featuring flame-filled performances make Shogun stand out. Fresh sushi arrives before meals and is great for sharing among a larger party of friends. The chef’s provide customers with their choice of shrimp, chicken or steak on the Hibachi grill situated in the middle of tables. The ability to watch the cooking allows patrons to guarantee their satisfaction with the cooking of their meat. A small shack located at 2815 Cantrell Road in Little Rock, Shogun is secluded and delicious.
