Lights, cameras and trash. Recycle Saline and the YEA! Team will be sponsoring this year’s Re-Fashion Bash on May 7 at 6 p.m., at the Benton Event Center. Students will use recycled materials to make their own trendy runway designs. Physical Science teacher Kori Kordsmeier’s helping sponsor the event.

“Saline County students will walk the runway turning trash to treasure showcasing their unique designs made from recycled material,” Kordsmeier said.

This year, 55 students from Bryant, Benton, Bauxite and Harmony Grove will be participating in the fashion show. The ReFashion Bash was created to inspire involvement in students to improve the environment by using old materials for their unique designs.

We focus on community involvement, recycling and sustainability,” Kordsmeier said. “The ReFashion Bash is designed to raise awareness about recycling and bettering the community.”

The Bash is also a great experience for students.

“The fashion show is a lot of fun and it offers great prizes,” Kordsmeier said. “You get to meet new people and be a part of a real fashion show with lights, a DJ and models.”
