Sporting her favorite color, sophomore Abigail Sudbury drives a turquoise 1996 Jeep Cherokee.
“I just love the color and I fell in love with it once I got,” she said.
She first got the car in June, but she didn’t start driving until January because she got her license on the 16.
When she was looking for a car, she said he aunt had a friend who had a cheap car she could drive. So when she found out her stepdad bought it for her. She said it was $1500.
She said her and her friends call the car “the Tank” because it is strong and sturdy.
Sudbury said she doesn’t like how the car has mechanical problems that includes a broken heater, oil usage, transmission problems and worn brakes. She said her grandpa is a mechanic so he will fix the car for her.
“I just hate it because it’s an old car and every time I turn around I have to fix something on it,” she said.
She also has Aztec seat covers and a Harley Davidson steering wheel cover. She said that her dad gave her the seat covers because they love the heritage and history of Aztecs. The Harley Davidson steering wheel represents her childhood because she grew up around riding motorcycles.
She said she not only loves the color of the car but that it matches her personality.
“I don’t have to have something like everyone else has. I want be different, to stand out and I want people to be like ‘hey, there goes Abby’,” she said.
