Everything from movie spoofs to dancing videos, you can find it on junior Drew Thompson’s YouTube channel. Thompson started making ‘random comedies’ for his channel Drewvids1 on 2009.

“We make really funny infomercials and dance parties where we’re just dancing around and having fun,” Thompson said.

The purpose is mostly for family and friends with a total of 53 videos, 15 subscribers and 2,185 views. Thompson said he used to make random videos with his dad when he was much younger. This got him interested, but after he started with his channel, it just became something to do.

“It’s just a lot of fun for me. Just goofing around with my friends and being funny,” Thompson said.

Even though it started out as just for fun, Thompson decided that he wants to be either a director or find a career in photography. Many of his videos contain a stream of pictures that he has taken with a soundtrack put in behind them.

“I love to do slideshows of the pictures I take around the school or of my family,” Thompson said.

Thompson does all his own advertising, spreading the word of his channel with just his voice. He tells his peers in computer class to check it out and informs his close friends.

“I tell them that they’ll either laugh a lot of jus absolutely hate it,” Thompson said.
