Friday May 2, the Class of 2026 were encouraged to deck out in camouflage for Junior Takeover—a spirit day class officers organized to commemorate the junior class taking over from the seniors.
“We want to kind of make the impression of like, ‘oh, we’re here, we’re the next in line,’” junior Isai Perez, Treasurer for the Class of 2026, said.
Friday marks the first of many spirit days for the future graduating class.
“It’s a day that represents us as juniors, us becoming seniors next year, and us being the head of the high school,” Perez said.
Junior Takeover’s theme was determined via a poll on @bryantclassof26’s Instagram story. Other choices were construction for “Seniors in the making” and jerseys for “2026’s final countdown,” but both were ultimately beaten by camouflage (“Where did the Class of 2025 go?”) with 51% of the votes.

Junior Tilly Warford, Secretary for the Class of 2026, hoped for camo to win the theme poll.
“During football season, camo [spirit days] always has the most participation and majority people already have it,” Warford said.
Class officers this year are hoping the Class of 2026 will show more spirit than in past spirit days.
“There was concern in the beginning about people not participating, but we have really tried to advertise it well this year,” junior Maci Tharp, President for the Class of 2026, said.
Class officers are optimistic about the upcoming seniors’ year.
“Don’t be lame, come on,” Perez said. “Participate for community, just to have fun, and to express your pride as a junior.”
