Janet Watson’s human anatomy class is the only place to find brains, hearts and eyeballs not attached to a body.
Watson took her classes outdoors to construct giant hearts of chalk, labeled and color-coded May 1.
“I used to just show them how the blood flows through the heart, but that’s boring. There is a lot of research that shows that gesturing and moving helps you think and you remember things better,” Watson said.
Watson claims success with her method, saying that she has seen grades improve since moving the activity outside.
“It’s fun to have more hands on physical activity. It helps me learn,” senior Cait Weaver said.
