Bryant bands to perform holiday concerts in Love Auditorium

December 12, 2019

Scheduled to perform on the stage of the new Love Auditorium Dec. 17, the Legacy of Bryant bands prepare to play various pieces for their holiday concerts.

The concert band, directed by Joshua Gardner, will perform “A Holiday Galop,” arranged by Randall Standridge, “A Can-Can Christmas,” arranged by Larry Clark, and “Christmas Vacation,” arranged by Patrick Roszell.

Jay Chipman will direct the Symphonic Band, which is set to play “So Wondrous Bright” by Carol Chambers, “Fantasy on Deck the Hall,” arranged by Richard L. Saucedo, and “We Wish You A Mambo Christmas,” arranged by Erik Morales.

The Wind Ensemble, directed by Keith Matthews, will perform “Salvation,” arranged by Bruce H. Houseknecht, “Eviler Elves” by James Kazik, “Emmanuel Variants,” by Robert E. Foster, and the classic “Sleigh Ride” by Leroy Anderson.

The bands hope to ensure their performances are a success with numerous before and after-school rehearsals. Students and directors look forward to performing in the new addition to the high school. Junior Jaelun Thomas hopes that families and the community will share love and support by attending.

“Our greatest gift for the holiday season is the gift of music,” Thomas said. “Our band directors and students have put in countless hours to perfect such a gift, and to share our gift to our school and community would be nothing short of something awesome for all of us.”
