Financial Aid Night

Senior students filed into the building 10 multipurpose room to get information on Financial Aid Oct. 10. The program, sponsored by UALR, was created to show high school seniors all of the scholarship opportunities they have on a day-to-day basis. Senior Sarah Palmer was one of the many who attended.

“I learned that the FAFSA is necessary for everything college-wise,” Palmer said. “Everyone should apply for the Arkansas Lottery Scholarship. There is a scholarship for just about everything.”

One piece of advice that was given to students included knowing deadlines of scholarships. Even though there are plenty of scholarships out there, the speakers reiterated that applying as soon as possible is imperative to each and every student.

“College is approaching a lot sooner than we probably think,” Palmer said. “It’s never too early to start looking at scholarship opportunities.”
