April 8 marked the end of an American tradition: “American Idol.” After 15 years on the air, it came to an end with finalists Trent Harmon and La’Porsha Renae competing for the title. Trent Harmon was named the last American Idol at the end of the episode. Ryan Seacrest finished off the season with, “For the last time from Hollywood, Goodnight America…For now.”

Sophomore Luke Welch’s favorite part of American Idol was watching the people sing.

“My favorite part was the auditions,” Welch said. “It was always entertaining to watch the crazy people, and to watch the judge’s reaction when someone really good sang.”
