Honeybees and Advanced Mixed Choir are in the process of practicing for the Arkansas Choral Director’s Association State Choral Festival Wednesday, April 11 at the University of Central Arkansas in Conway.
For the choirs to qualify for state, the choirs must receive an IIR rating, meaning that the choirs are recommended for state. Both choirs received a Superior rating of I.
“[Both choirs] have shown such dedication and commitment to doing their best and I know that they will continue to make Bryant High School proud,” choir director Julie White said
Last year, the Honeybees earned ‘Best in Class for 7A Female Ensembles’ for scoring the highest total points of all 7A female ensembles that competed and hope to maintain their title. Advanced Mixed Choir looks to win a sweepstakes award, which is given to choirs to receive Division I rating at the region and state level in performance and sight-reading.
Advanced Mixed Choir received Division I’s in performance ands sight-reading at All-Region in February, and if they receive a Division I rating in performance at State, then they will receive the sweepstakes award.
