  • April 17The first period Social Studies classes gathered in Hornet Arena this morning to give teacher Ricky Manes the Teacher of the Year Award. Manes is a U.S History, AP Research, Civics and Holocaust & Human Behavior teacher. He was chosen out of the 13 and was given the award by administration.

Meet Jasper. Jasper is a senior this year, as well as one of the editors of the Prospective Newspaper; this will be their 6th year overall in a Journalism program. They enjoy reading and collecting CDs. After high school, Jasper plans to go to college out of state and double major in English Education and Psychology, pursuing a doctorate. Outside of school, they are probably reading, taking a nap, or playing video games.

As members of the prom committee, they help decide the prom theme as well as come up with decorations. “I was already in Mrs. Hares advisory and she kept telling me to join [prom committee] so that she can talk about it in advisory without having to be like ‘Izzy  please leave the room,’” Sharp said.
