For seven days, Student Senate sponsored the Coins for Cancer drive to raise money for cancer patients at the Arkansas Children’s Hospital. The drive was Jan. 30 – Feb. 6 and students competed by grade level to raise the most money. Students donated coins during lunch and Student Senate members went table-to-table to collect coins.
“We wanted to do a school project to help cancer patients,” sponsor Nancy Lafferty said, “so we chose this for our January school project.”
The sophomores came in first place with $133.98, juniors in second with $88.03, freshmen in third with $63.33 and seniors in fourth with $53.09. The combined total was $338.43.
