Baseball:

The Diamond Hornets took the plate against Benton on Monday night, and had no problem moving past their rivals for their 20th win. Senior Zach Johnson and junior Beaux Bonvillain combined to pitch a shut-out game, allowing only two hits. The team’s bats, lead by Junior Garrett Meisenheimer and senior Evan Lee both batting in three runs, lead to a 10-0 mercy-rule victory. Bryant is now 20-2 on the season, and they sit second in the 7A/6A standings with a 7-1 conference record, losing out on the tie-breaker against Conway. Their next match will be against Little Rock Catholic tonight.

Softball:

The Lady Hornets were able to hold off a late rally from the Benton Lady Panthers on Monday, winning 7-5 after giving up four runs in the final inning. Bryant now holds a 13-10 overall record, and are set to play 7A rival Mount St. Mary’s tonight.

Signings:

Senior Charles Terry signed to run track and cross-country for Hendrix College on Monday. Senior Kendall Selig chose to further her education and her soccer career by formally signing to play for Arkansas State University yesterday.
